One month at Craig

Wednesday night we went to an Italian restaurant near the hospital. It was really good and we went even though I'm still in a wheelchair. The night was cold. As it turned out it was kind of the night that started the weekend because on Thursday night, my friend from college Alison arrived with her husband Eric and their son Eddie who is only one year old. Eddie is one of the coolest babies we've hung out with. In a way he reminded me of myself because like Eddie, I am learning how to walk and use my left hand and left leg. In fact, I am relearning everything that I learned as a child. It was good to see Chuck and MB who visited on Friday. It was good hearing about Dolores happenings. Chuck and MB joked with us about how all their friends are younger. Chris and Alex were here today. We all went to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science because Eric wanted to see the exhibit on Colorado rocks and minerals. We learned that aquamarine is found on Mount Antero. Alison, Eric and Eddie had to leave and it was hard to say goodbye but we stayed with Chris and Alex and had dinner at a local Thai restaurant. They told us all about their vacation. Tomorrow we are going to Golden and see our dogs and Gareth's parents and Jay Cutler. Next weekend we might go to a Bronco game with the hospital bus. Don't get stuck in the snow Dolores folks. Think of me when you ski! Take care,
Marilyn

Hi Marilyn. I'm glad you're getting out and are up and about and going to visit the love dogs. I think about you often and I am happy to hear how well you are recovering! See you soon, you rock! Keep it up, you are wonder woman. Love Jill

Hi Marilyn and Gareth,
Eric, Eddie and I had a fabulous time hanging out with you, attending your classes and therapies (excelling at all challenges the therapists gave you), and getting to venture out from Craig and just hang out. I noticed so many changes in just the two days we were with you. It was incredible to watch you walk with just a cane, work your left arm so that you can now raise it pretty much straight up over your head, share college memories and laughs, ask complex medical questions of the staff (stumping some of them) and experience your determination to do what needs to be done to walk and then soon, go home to Dolores. On Thursday, Mar's goal was to walk by Xmas. When we left on Saturday, her goal had moved up to be walking in two weeks. Mar, we have full faith in you, and with Gareth's unending support, you are unstoppable! Go Mar! We can't wait to see you and Gareth again soon, and until then, Peace, chica:-)

Love, Alison, Eric, and Eddie

Hey Marilyn and Gareth,

This is my second try after our visit with you--the first posting never showedup.

It was so cool to see and visit with you both on Friday. Marilyn, you are simply cranking in your healing and recovery. We so appreciate the hard work that you do, every day, and the results are a great testimony to what you are doing and the way that you hang in. Gareth, your support and being there are nothing short of incredible. You guys make a great team! It was a breath of fresh air to be around you, and we especially enjoyed the mac and cheese!!! Yummm!

Can't wait to welcome you back home to Dolores.

Chuck and MB
