Marilyn's update - 11/27/07

Lately I've been learning the ins and outs of the therapy professions, including physical, speech and occupational. My schedule stays booked everyday with these therapies leaving me tired in the evening. I am still having trouble with the left side of my body but it is getting better. I am working on walking and that is rewarding. I hope in the next couple weeks I'll be thinking more clearly. The speech therapists are constantly testing my critical thinking skills. Gareth is here helping me with everything. Hopefully it will all pay off soon so we can make it back to Dolores and see everybody. I went to Gareth's parents house on Sunday and got to spend a day away from the hospital which was a good experience. It's been good to read about everybody's support and I appreciate that.

Love to you all,
Marilyn

Hey Mar,

I can understand why you are so exhausted at the end of the day. I would have never thought that you have such a rigorous therapy schedule each day! There's no time to veg out and watch TV or read! It sounds like you even do more exercise when you are supposed to be relaxing! You probably exercise your left side in your sleep too! Well I'm so happy to hear you are improving so much & that Gareth is there for you all the way! Say 'Hi' to your parents for me when you talk to them next time!

love,

Marilyn,

I have been checking your blog everyday and I am so excited that you are doing so well. A trip away from the hospital is a huge, positive step!

Knowing you and your drive to succeed, I can only see you improving more and more with each passing day.

My church family prays for you every week and from what I can see you are getting a lot of spiritual and emotional support.

Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Love, Aunt Luanne

Marilyn -

I've been living in the grad school bubble and just heard about your accident from Alison. First of all I am glad that you are recovering from this crazy accident! Secondly, I send thoughts, good wishes and lots of positive energy your way in the hopes that it will add to your existing strength. Finally I am so glad that Gareth is there by your side as I can imagine it makes all the difference in the world. Lots of love and healing wishes.
